Are you a Police Constable with a passion for investigations who wants to develop into a Detective Constable in a specialist role?

The Force Cyber Crime Unit (FCCU) is seeking enthusiastic, curious, and motivated investigators to join our team. We are looking for people who enjoy solving complex problems, pursuing offenders, and delivering outstanding outcomes for victims. Whilst cyber crime is our specialism, you do not need to be a technical expert to apply. We can teach cyber - what we need are great investigators with the right attitude and willingness to learn.

This is an exciting opportunity to investigate serious and complex cyber crime offences whilst working within a supportive, experienced, and collaborative team. About the Role

The FCCU specialises in the investigation of serious and complex cyber crime offences, including computer misuse offences such as network intrusions, hacking, malware and ransomware attacks, denial of service attacks, and cyber-enabled offences including fraud and blackmail.

The criminality we investigate is constantly evolving, making this one of the most dynamic and rewarding investigative environments in policing. The role combines traditional detective skills with modern investigative techniques, intelligence development and digital evidence gathering.

Working as part of a mixed team of police officers and specialist staff from across the South East Region, you will manage investigations from initial report through to prosecution, ensuring victims remain at the heart of everything we do.

What You'll Be Doing

• Investigate serious and complex cybercrime offences and cyber-enabled criminality.
• Act as Officer in the Case, developing investigative strategies and progressing enquiries through to conclusion.
• Interview victims, witnesses and suspects.
• Obtain and review digital evidence with support from specialist colleagues.
• Plan and execute search warrants and operational activity.
• Prepare case files in accordance with legislation, policy and court deadlines.
• Develop intelligence opportunities and identify organised criminal activity.
• Attend court and provide evidence where required.
• Work closely with regional and national law enforcement partners.

You will also have the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge in areas such as digital investigations, crypto currency and cyber-enabled offending through a structured and supported training programme.

Cyber experience is not essential.

If you have strong investigative skills, curiosity and the desire to learn, we will provide the training and support needed to develop your cybercrime expertise.

The FCCU benefits from a network of specialist officers, staff and volunteers who provide technical support and advice. You will never be expected to face technical challenges alone.

• National Investigators' Examination (NIE)
• Achievement of full PIP2 Investigator Accreditation

• Monday to Friday shift pattern, with a degree of flexibility to meet operational delivery
• Hybrid Working in line with our Flexible and Agile Working Team Charter.
• Occasional travel and working away from home may be necessary.
• A full UK driving licence is essential.

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessaryfor the successful candidatetoobtainandmaintainvetting levelSCtogether witha number ofenhanced security checks. In order toachieve this, you musthaveresidedin the UK for the pastfive years.Exemptionsmayapply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), andstudying abroad.
