Mechanical Engineer (Plumber) - Oxford - £43,500 + Call-Out Allowance

Venn Group's specialist Estates & Facilities recruitment team is recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer (Plumber) to join a prestigious organisation in Oxford. This permanent opportunity offers a varied role supporting the maintenance and operation of a diverse estate, undertaking plumbing, heating, mechanical, and general building maintenance across accommodation, teaching facilities, public spaces, and plant rooms.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Carrying out planned, reactive, and preventative maintenance on plumbing, heating, and mechanical systems
• Installing, repairing, and replacing pipework, taps, valves, sanitaryware, radiators, boilers, and associated plant equipment
• Diagnosing faults and undertaking repairs to water, drainage, heating, and mechanical systems
• Completing PPM inspections and compliance checks including water hygiene, emergency lighting, and fire safety
• Undertaking general building maintenance and minor fabric repairs across the estate
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records using electronic systems
• Participating in the on-call rota and providing out-of-hours support when required

About You

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, recognised apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Plumbing, Heating, Building Services, or a related trade
• Proven experience carrying out plumbing installation, maintenance, testing, and repairs within a commercial or large estate environment
• Strong knowledge of water, heating, drainage, mechanical services, plant rooms, and boiler controls
• Experience working independently with excellent fault-finding, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills
• Full UK Driving Licence with strong communication and customer service skills

• Salary: £43,500 + Call-Out Allowance
