About the RoleWe have an exciting opportunity for a Plasterer (Trade Operative Level 2) to join the Norwich City Services Limited (NCSL) team on a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2027. This position involves delivering a wide range of plastering repairs and maintenance services across Norwich City Council's domestic and commercial properties and assets on behalf of NCSL. The role requires a skilled plasterer who can work independently and efficiently to provide work to a commercial and professional standard while ensuring excellent customer service and achieving performance targets.
Responsibilities include undertaking preparation and plastering works, interpreting specifications and drawings, requisitioning materials, liaising with supervisors and schedulers, updating work records using mobile technology, and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures. The successful candidate will also support service improvement initiatives, collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders, maintain confidentiality, and, where appropriate, assist in the development of apprentices and trainees.
The ideal candidate will hold a City & Guilds Plastering qualification, recognised apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification, together with substantial plastering experience and a strong understanding of health and safety requirements. Applicants should have excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to interpret plans and specifications. A commitment to customer service, safe working practices, and effective communication is essential. A full UK driving licence is required, and candidates must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces. Desirable qualifications include Asbestos Awareness and CAT B Removal training, ladder training, experience using PDA or mobile workforce technology, and knowledge of domestic property repairs, particularly within social housing environments.

- 25 days annual leave, rising by a day each year until 30 days is reached. Plus 8 bank holidays and a Christmas shut down period.
This role is for 37 hours per week, however, to support flexibility and promote an inclusive workplace, part-time hours or a job share arrangement will be considered.
