Job Description
Job Title: Senior Planner
Our client, a tier 1 contractor operating in the life sciences space, is looking for a Senior Planner to cover the South Region which is predominantly Oxford, London and Kent. The position is offered on a permanent basis and would require travel to the various sites 3 days of the week.

Our client, a tier 1 contractor operating in the life sciences space, is looking for a Senior Planner to cover the South Region which is predominantly Oxford, London and Kent. The position is offered on a permanent basis and would require travel to the various sites 3 days of the week.
Responsibilities
- Programme Development: Lead the preparation of construction target programmes, identifying improvements against contract schedules.
- Tendering & Supply Chain Validation: Develop tendering programmes, validating them with the supply chain and preparing settlement information.
- Critical Path Analysis: Ensure all programmes are fully logic linked, generating a robust critical path and float paths for analysis.
- First-Principles Planning: Develop custom logic, assess quantum of work, calculate periods, and resource load programmes.
- Logistics & Sequencing: Prepare sequence sketches, mark-ups, and planning workbooks to establish programme foundations.
- 4D Programme Development: Support or lead the development of 4D programmes for enhanced planning and visualization.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work with the supply chain to align project programmes with design, lead times, construction, and resource requirements.
- Risk Management: Document programme risks, including H&S, commercial, quality, and time-related risks.
- Quality & Compliance: Establish hold points for inspections and sign-offs, ensuring compliance and quality assurance.
- Opportunity Identification: Recognize and capitalize on project opportunities to drive efficiency and performance.
- Contract Awareness: Understand various contract formats, particularly NEC, ensuring provisions for Time Risk Allowance (TRA) and Terminal Float.
- Document Management: Maintain electronic planning files within the Common Data Environment (CDE) for seamless retrieval.
- Industry Standards: Produce contract and tender programme files to pass CIOB or DCMA quality checks.
- Proven success working with clients, contractors, and stakeholders on live pharmaceutical projects.
- Strong team collaboration experience.
- Extensive knowledge of UK & EU legal frameworks, particularly in contract management.
- Experience in mentoring & developing junior planners.
- Background in laboratory construction and high-tech manufacturing facilities is desirable.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in Asta Powerproject & Primavera P6.
- Relevant degree or diploma in construction management.
- Certification in planning and programme software (desirable).
- Membership of a relevant professional body (desirable).

- Primavera P6 - Managing Costs & Resources
- Contract Awareness - Understanding JCT & NEC Contracts
- Basic BIM Training - Common Data Environment Knowledge
