John Sisk & Son are looking for a Planner to join their UK Infrastructure Business Unit. The role involves leading the planning team with the planning and programming of design, procurement, and construction activities associated with projects in a specific geographical area. The Planner will regularly review the programme and planning management functions during preconstruction and construction phases, and develop reports to feedback on progress and performance to the Regional Director. Responsibilities- Support project directors and the director in charge in assessing programme risk during prequalification - bid or no bid.
- Review the development of the baseline contract programme, covering all aspects of design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Oversee the preparation of a construction (target) programme, highlighting areas for improvement against the contract programme.
- Lead the regional planning team to ensure all programmes, phasing, and work undertaken are in a consistent format.
- Support the director in charge in implementing business improvement measures related to planning and project controls.
- Report to the Regional Director(s) on the current programme status of all projects on a weekly/monthly basis, and regularly review programmes, outputs, and phasing.
- Validate tender event programmes for subcontractor procurement, ensuring design release and lead-in activities are accurate and achievable.
- Coordinate the development of 4D graphical models or 2D phasing plans as required.
- Oversee construction methodology to demonstrate techniques and sequencing for successful project delivery.
- Review all project prelim books, including staff resources, logistics, and temporary works requirements.
- Engage with the supply chain to review project programmes regarding design, lead-ins, construction periods, plant, and labor requirements.
- Assess risk and opportunities for each programme, highlighting potential mitigation measures, including float and time risk allowances.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in a Planner role.
- Relevant Degree or diploma.
- Advanced training in construction project management software, including progress analysis and s-curve reporting, managing costs and resources.
- Primavera P6 training and managing people training.
- Advanced BIM training with understanding of the common data environment.
