An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planner or Senior Planner to join a growing and well-regarded planning consultancy in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects while progressing your career within a supportive and commercially focused team.

This role would suit an ambitious planner looking to take on greater responsibility, develop client relationships, and contribute to high-quality development projects across the South West and beyond.

The Role

You will play a key role in delivering planning advice across a broad range of sectors, including:

  • Residential and mixed use developments
  • Commercial and employment schemes
  • Retail and town centre projects
  • Strategic land promotion

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing planning applications from initial instruction through to determination
  • Preparing planning statements, reports and supporting documentation
  • Providing strategic planning advice to clients
  • Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams
  • Supporting business development and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Contributing to project strategy and problem solving
  • At Senior Planner level, you will also be expected to take on increased responsibility for project delivery, client management, and mentoring junior team members.
About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience within a planning consultancy or local authority
  • A strong understanding of the UK planning system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to manage projects independently
  • A proactive and commercially aware approach
  • MRTPI Chartered status (or working towards Chartership)
  • Experience managing complex planning applications
  • Ability to support and mentor junior team members
