PHP Developer - Contract (Fully Remote, UK only)

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with strong PHP expertise to support the modernisation of a leading referral and consultation management platform used widely across the healthcare sector.

This is a fully remote UK-based contract, Inside IR35, £450-£475/day PAYE, running until December 2025 with strong potential to extend.

The role:
You will work as part of an established engineering team to upgrade a large-scale PHP monolith to the latest version, enhancing scalability, resilience, and security in preparation for a cloud migration programme.

Key requirements:

• Strong commercial experience in PHP development
• Hands-on familiarity with modern PHP tooling: PHPStan, PHPUnit, PHP_CodeSniffer, PHP Mess Detector, Rector
• Collaborative team player, comfortable working within existing delivery frameworks
• AWS experience is highly desirable

• Clearance: BPSS required (support provided)
• Start: ASAP
• Contract: Until 31/12/25 (extension likely)
