Job Description

At Tesco, people are at the heart of everything we do, and this couldn't be truer for our pharmacy team.

As a Pharmacy Manager, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact on others' lives. Whether you're supporting pharmacists, providing top-notch services to customers, or fostering community spirit, your work will touch the lives of hundreds of people every day.

We want to help you be at your best, whatever life brings. That's why we'll offer you uninterrupted "me time" away from the pharmacy to relax, refuel, and recharge. Aside from these healthy breaks, you'll also have plenty of career development opportunities with leadership training plans from industry experts, so there's every chance to progress. And if you have ideas for improvement, we'll ensure you're given the chance to be heard.

It all adds up to a role where you can do good, feel good, and develop your career. Let's make every day a little better.

You will be responsible for:
  • Supplying prescriptions, delivering NHS and private services, and providing healthcare advice to customers
  • Playing an active role in our charities support program, advising people in the community at risk of or living with cancer, heart disease, and diabetes
  • Leading, training, and developing colleagues
  • Using a planning system to ensure pharmacy staffing levels meet customer needs
You will need:
  • A Pharmacy Degree
  • A passion for leading and empowering a team
  • Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and willingness to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme
  • Completion of a DBS check (organized by us) prior to employment

Pharmacists working for Tesco will have to complete a DBS check (organized by Tesco) before starting employment.

What's in it for you:

Our pharmacies are led and supported exclusively by pharmacists; we are always seeking new ways to deliver the best service to our communities.

Alongside a secure and flexible work environment, we offer excellent benefits, including:

  • GPhC fee paid annually
  • Starting holiday entitlement of 25 days plus a personal day and bank holidays
  • Buy holiday salary sacrifice scheme
  • Savings of up to £2000 annually on Tesco purchases
  • Annual bonus up to 20% of salary
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • 26 weeks maternity and adoption leave at full pay after 1 year of service, followed by 13 weeks statutory pay; 4 weeks fully paid paternity leave
  • Flexible working requests from day one
  • Exclusive Tesco pharmacy training programme in partnership with Diabetes UK, Cancer Research UK, and the British Heart Foundation
  • Structured pharmacy leadership training plan from industry specialists
  • Colleague discounts on everyday purchases
  • Support for UK health and social care visa applications, if needed
  • Access to colleague networks celebrating diversity
