Personal Tax Assistant Manager

Location: Birmingham (Hybrid)

A well-respected professional services organisation is seeking a Personal Tax Assistant Manager to take on a key role within its Birmingham-based tax function. This position offers the chance to take ownership of meaningful work while contributing to the delivery of high-quality personal tax services for a broad mix of individual clients.

The Role

In this role, you will oversee personal tax compliance processes and ensure timely, accurate delivery of self-assessment returns and related filing obligations. You will act as a trusted point of contact for clients who require clear, reliable guidance on their personal tax affairs.

Your work may involve reviewing computations, identifying potential planning opportunities, and helping maintain strong client service standards across the team. You will also be involved in resolving queries, preparing supporting documentation, and ensuring client records remain up to date and compliant with current legislation.

This position provides the opportunity to work alongside senior team members on more complex matters when required, broadening your exposure and technical capability.

About You

We are seeking someone who brings:

  • A recognised professional tax qualification (e.g., ATT, CTA, or equivalent experience)
  • A solid grounding in personal tax compliance
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence reviewing technical work
  • The ability to communicate clearly and develop positive working relationships with clients
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and managing deadlines
