Personal Injury Claims Handler - Motor

Location: Manchester City Centre (Office-based during probation)
Salary: Up to £38,000 + 10% Discretionary Bonus
Working Hours: 9:00am - 6:00pm, Monday to Friday

IPS Group is working with a growing InsurTech business that is continuing to invest heavily in its claims operation. As part of this growth, they are looking to appoint a Bodily Injury Handler to join their Manchester team.

The Role

You'll be responsible for managing your own caseload of motor bodily injury claims valued up to £50,000, handling cases from instruction through to settlement or litigation where required. The caseload will include a mix of Official Injury Claim (OIC), Ministry of Justice (MOJ) and non-portal claims, requiring a strong understanding of the bodily injury claims process and the ability to make sound decisions on liability, indemnity and quantum.

You'll review medical evidence and expert reports, investigate liability disputes, assess general and special damages, negotiate settlements and liaise with claimants, solicitors and third parties to ensure claims are progressed efficiently.
The role will also provide exposure to out-of-jurisdiction claims, including Scotland, Northern Ireland and Guernsey, offering the opportunity to broaden your technical expertise and handle a varied and interesting caseload.

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who have proven experience handling motor bodily injury claims and are looking to join a business with ambitious growth plans. You will ideally have:

  • Experience managing your own caseload of motor bodily injury claims from inception through to settlement
  • Experience handling claims through both the Official Injury Claim (OIC) and Ministry of Justice (MOJ) portals
  • A good understanding of indemnity, liability and quantum
  • Experience reviewing medical evidence and assessing injury claims
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to prioritise and manage a varied caseload effectively
  • A proactive approach and genuine interest in developing your technical claims knowledge

Experience dealing with out-of-jurisdiction claims, litigated files or more complex bodily injury matters would be advantageous.

What's in it for You?

Alongside a competitive basic salary as well as a potential annual bonus, you'll be joining a growing InsurTech business that is continuing to invest heavily in its Bodily Injury function. You'll have the opportunity to handle a more technical and varied caseload, further develop your expertise across OIC, MOJ and out-of-jurisdiction claims, and progress your career within a business that can offer genuine long-term opportunities as the team continues to grow.

Following probation and training, there is also the opportunity to work from home 1 day per week.
