Personal Advisor (x2) - Care Leavers Service

Location: Bradford, Odsal (Hybrid - 5 days per week)

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Overview

Personal Advisors at Bradford Children and Families Trust guide and support care leavers to navigate the path to adulthood, helping them develop life skills, education, training, employment, health and wellbeing support, and housing. The role is critical to the Trust's vision of providing positive outcomes for care experienced young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide practical, personal and emotional support to young people to meet assessed needs; maintain and promote health and wellbeing.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of adolescent development, leaving care legislation, rights, and entitlements.
  • Support and advise on health, benefits, education, training, employment, accommodation/housing, and personal wellbeing.
  • Work alongside professionals across children and adult organisations.
  • Assess and review changing needs as young people move into adulthood.
  • Work flexibly and creatively to ensure positive engagement.
  • Maintain clear, young person-focused case records and author reports/assessments.
  • Offer additional duties as required to support the above objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
  • GCSE (or equivalent) Mathematics grade C and English grade C.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working directly with children, young people, and families.
  • NVQ Level 4 in childcare, youth work, or related field, or equivalent experience committed to completing within the first 12 months.
  • Experience in related fields such as homelessness, youth justice, residential care, or adult services is desirable.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with young people.
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills.
  • Driving licence and access to a car with business insurance unless a disability prevents this.
