Posted 2 hours 24 minutes ago by 1625 Independent People
Come join a kind, values-led team, where you'll learn loads, make a real difference, and be supported every step of the way. We're looking for a People Support Officer (L&D) who brings heart, curiosity and a knack for keeping things running smoothly, whether that's organising training and development, ensuring colleagues attend reflective practice, or making sure our learning and development systems stay on point.
This is a great opportunity to join our small and genuinely lovely People Team at 1625. We support colleagues who support young people going through some of the toughest times of their lives. As our People Support Officer focusing on learning and development, your personality and creativity will be key in shaping the learning and development culture we want for our colleagues, and you will see the positive impact of your contribution every day.
We aim to build a more diverse workforce that reflects the young people we support, including those from migrant, refugee and asylum seeking communities. We therefore warmly encourage applications from individuals who are currently under represented at 1625ip, including people from ethnic minority backgrounds, Muslim and male candidates, and anyone with relevant lived experience.
If you need an adjustment to be made to any part of the recruitment process, please let us know as soon as possible.
We are a leading youth homelessness charity based in the Southwest, working with over 1,500 young people. At 1625 we are driven by Social Justice and Passion: we strive to do something that matters and take pride in seeing the results of our work in social outcomes and improving young people's lives.
How we workAt 1625 our work is rooted in Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE) and Trauma Informed Practice (TIP). Our Psychologically Informed Framework shapes how we build relationships, use our spaces, and support young people. This means we prioritise safety, trust, collaboration, and understanding the impact of trauma in every interaction. You don't need prior experience in PIE or TIP to apply - we'll support you to learn and develop these approaches in the role.
What you will be doing:- Being a master puppeteer when it comes to organising your workload, with a strong work ethic and enthusiasm for working autonomously to keep our time sensitive processes moving, you will coordinate our training programmes, communicating with managers and colleagues regularly.
- Being someone who goes out of their way to make things work for people, thinking of creative solutions and owning their role proactively to achieve positive outcomes, you will keep our time sensitive processes moving, for example by supporting our Learning and Development Strategy Group through coordination of regular meetings, chairing, and meeting actions.
- Being a stickler for detail who takes ownership of records and data management systems, communicating relevant information to everyone who needs to know, you will maintain high quality records across different platforms, including training and reflective practice records, making sure we fulfil our obligations as an organisation.
- Being someone who cares about the welfare of young people and feels connected to our organisational vision of a world where every young person is supported to access what they need and thrive, you will practice values of self awareness and reflection and carry yourself with integrity, by working in a discrete and sensitive manner, an essential aspect of any People role.
- Being someone who embraces change with enthusiasm and resilience, you will consistently bring a fresh perspective and embrace opportunities to share your views on how we can make things better for colleagues. You will do this through collaboration with the People Team to fulfil team objectives, making a mighty contribution to a dedicated team of four. You will also collaborate with other Team Administrators.
You will be in the People team and your line manager will be our People Director.
Our Competency Development Framework sits at the heart of how we work at 1625ip. It links our values with the behaviours we expect to see in everyday practice and supports colleagues to learn, reflect and develop. It also means our recruitment is grounded in behaviours, not just experience, so applications, interviews and job profiles all focus on how we work, not only what we do.
No prior experience? No problem! We believe in your potential and are committed to providing training and support to help you thrive. If you have transferrable skills and you are interested in this role, but you are worried about the application process, please get in touch with us. We encourage you to have an informal chat with the recruiting manager to discuss how your personal or professional experience and skills could be transferred to this role.
