About the roleWe're looking for an experienced People Relations Partner to join our People Relations & Case Management team, providing expert employment law advice and people relations support across the organisation.
This senior, specialist role works closely with the Head of People Relations & Case Management, senior leaders and the wider People function to provide expert employment law advice and ensure people related decisions and organisational change are legally compliant, pragmatic and aligned to business priorities. The role plays a key part in minimising legal, financial and reputational risk while supporting the delivery of strategic objectives.
Acting as a subject matter expert, the role advises on complex and high risk employee relations matters, including restructures, TUPE, senior exits, contractual change and employment litigation, and provides oversight of Employment Tribunal claims and ACAS early conciliation in partnership with internal and external legal teams.
The role supports and shapes major people projects and change initiatives, assessing and communicating employment law risk across all stages to enable informed decision making. Working collaboratively across the People function, it ensures a consistent, joined up approach to people relations, while also contributing to investigations, trade union matters and robust governance.
With a strong capability building focus, the role supports the development of policies, processes and training, ensuring legislative changes are understood, risks are identified early and lessons learned are embedded across the organisation.
What you'll bring- Legally qualified employment law specialist, ideally with in house experience, comfortable operating within a large, complex and unionised environment.
- Strong track record of advising on high risk and sensitive employee relations matters and the judgement to provide clear, pragmatic guidance.
- Strong commercial awareness, understanding how employment law advice supports wider business objectives, and the ability to influence and challenge at senior and executive level.
- Collaborative and consultative approach, with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, practical advice.
- Comfortable handling confidential, high profile and time critical matters; able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously with attention to detail and legal rigour.
- Proactive, resilient and adaptable; able to operate effectively in a fast paced environment and respond calmly to emerging risks or urgent issues.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying up to date with legislative and case law developments, and to build capability across the organisation through coaching, guidance and knowledge sharing.
