The People of the Peak project will engage volunteers with the heritage of the National Park, training them to monitor the condition of a wide range of designated and non-designated heritage assets. The project will greatly expand the National Park's volunteering offer, with a focus on young people. It will also help us to increase the diversity of our volunteer cohort. Key aspects of the role include:
• assisting in the development and delivery of archaeological and conservation-related projects and events
• supporting a range of project activities including volunteer recruitment and training
• assessing bodies of information to prioritise heritage sites for ongoing monitoring
• preparing equipment and resources for volunteer activities
• ensuring all project activity meets high standards of delivery and safety
• liaising with external organisations and groups
• promoting the project and delivering public outreach
• administrative support, assisting with meetings and budget management
• managing project data and record keeping
• preparing data for quarterly reporting

About You
You will have a degree or qualification in archaeology, heritage conservation, or other relevant discipline. You will have experience of archaeological fieldwork and practical conservation/countryside management. You will have successful experience of supporting the delivery of projects and community events and working to deadlines. You will have good communication and interpersonal skills and experience of supervising and training volunteers. You will be well organised, with experience of good information management, evaluation and report writing.
