Job Description

Adecco Public Sector is delighted to be supporting a Local authority based in Midlands in recruiting for an experienced HR professional to join the team as a People Business Partner.

This is a strategic HR role where you'll partner with senior leaders across the organisation, helping to shape people strategies, drive organisational change, and deliver innovative HR solutions that support business objectives.

  • Location : Wolverhampton/hybrid 2 days office
  • Type: contract 6 months
  • Rate: between £300 - £330/day

The Opportunity

As a key member of the People Services Leadership Team, you'll act as the strategic link between HR and an assigned directorate, providing expert advice and influencing decision-making at senior level. You'll work closely with Directors and Leadership Teams to identify people priorities, implement workforce solutions, and support the delivery of long-term organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Directors and senior stakeholders to develop and implement strategic people plans.
  • Lead on organisational change initiatives, restructures and complex employee relations matters.
  • Use workforce data, analytics and insights to influence decision-making and drive performance improvements.
  • Coach, mentor and influence senior leaders on people management best practice.
  • Support employee engagement, workforce planning and the delivery of the Council's People Strategy.
  • Develop strong relationships with Trade Unions and support consultation and negotiation processes.

Lead and manage a team of HR professionals, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality People Service.

About You

We're keen to speak to HR professionals who can demonstrate:

? Proven HR Business Partnering experience within a large, complex organisation, with the ability to align people strategies to business objectives.

? Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience building trusted relationships and influencing Directors, Heads of Service and senior leaders to achieve positive organisational outcomes.

? A successful track record of leading and supporting organisational change, workforce transformation, restructures and service improvement initiatives.

? A data-driven approach, using HR metrics, workforce analytics and insights to identify trends, inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.

? In-depth knowledge of employment legislation, HR best practice and employee relations, with the confidence to provide robust and commercially sound advice.

? CIPD Level 7 qualification and/or Chartered CIPD membership (or equivalent relevant experience), alongside a commitment to continuous professional development.

? Excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and support leaders in delivering effective people solutions.

? Experience working within a unionised, public sector or similarly complex environment would be advantageous.
