People and Culture Manager

Well Placed HR are working with a well-known and important charity as they seek to recruit a People and Culture Manager to join their friendly, purpose-driven team.
Sitting on the leadership team, working closely with the Chief Executive, you will take the lead on all people-related matters, helping to build a positive, inclusive culture. From recruitment and onboarding through to development and employee relations, you'll have oversight of the full people lifecycle. You will also assist in the management of volunteers, ensuring they feel valued, supported and connected.
What you'll be doing- Leading and developing the People function so it supports the organisation's goals and values
- Overseeing recruitment, onboarding, development and exit processes
- Driving learning and development across the organisation
- Shaping and delivering a volunteer engagement approach
- Supporting managers with HR advice, guidance and day-to-day people matters
- Keeping HR policies, procedures and systems up to date and working well
- Managing employee relations and performance processes
- Line managing a small HR/L&D support role
- Using data and reporting to help inform decisions
- Playing an active role in leadership team discussions
- Promoting a culture that is inclusive, supportive and people-focused
- Helping introduce and make the most of digital and AI tools in HR
- A CIPD Level 3 qualification (or similar experience) or above
- Experience in an HR or People role within a similar-sized organisation
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build good working relationships
- A calm, organised approach and the ability to juggle priorities
- Confidence working with data, systems and reports
- An interest in using technology to improve how things are done
- A genuine commitment to inclusive and people-centred ways of working
This is a full-time and permanent position based in one of our North Devon locations, with a hybrid working model in place (2 days remote). You would be required to travel to other sites when necessary; therefore a driving licence would be extremely beneficial.
