The Role The People & Culture Associate role is a rare opportunity to join a high-growth, multi-entity renewables scale-up at a pivotal stage of its journey. Hometree's People team has only been established in the last 12 months, meaning you'll be joining at the ground floor, helping to build and shape how our function operates as we scale.

You'll be the backbone for day-to-day People processes while also taking ownership of meaningful projects that directly impact our culture, employee experience, and ability to scale. From delivering engagement events to supporting post-acquisition integration, you'll be trusted to make a visible contribution from day one.

It's a role designed for someone exceptionally smart, ambitious, and resourceful; Someone who thrives in fast-moving, scrappy environments, asks "why?", and wants to make their mark early in their career. You'll get exposure across the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to engagement, culture, and people operations, while learning directly from specialists in Talent Acquisition, People Operations, People Partnering, and contributing to the delivery of People team OKRs.

This is a genuine springboard role, the right candidate will grow quickly into a more specialist People & Culture position, whether in Talent, Ops, or Partnering.

Responsibilities:


Talent Acquisition
  • Be on the frontline of our growth: post job adverts across LinkedIn, Indeed, andspecialist sites, and keep recruitment activity up to date in our ATSTeamtailor.
  • Orchestrate a smooth and professional hiring process by coordinating interviews and managing candidate communications.
  • Draft offer letters, run pre-employment checks, and ensure every hire is set up for success.
  • Over time take real ownership by running end-to-end recruitment for junior roles during busy periods, your chance to sharpen hiring skills and see your impact quickly.

People Operations
  • Draft and issue employment contracts, contract variations, and key employee letters.
  • Keep our HRIS (Hibob) accurate and reliable by maintaining employee data across compliance, leave, and job records.
  • Deliver a seamless onboarding experience, from creating employee profiles and ordering equipment to sending welcome emails and preparing Day 1 inductions.
People Partnering Support
  • Be part of the action in employee relations. From drafting invites for performance meetings to joining ER meetings as a note-taker and turning discussions into clear, professional outcome letters.
  • Learn first-hand from People Partners as they coach managers and guide employees through sensitive processes.
Employee Engagement & Experience
  • Help bring our culture to life by supporting internal events like town halls, all-hands, AMAs, and monthly socials.
  • Take ownership of our big cultural highlights, planning and delivering the annual Summer Party and Christmas Party.
  • Craft engaging internal comms that connect our people and keep everyone in the loop.
  • Shape the HQ employee experience: make our London office a welcoming, energising, and well-run environment.
  • Take charge of practical elements at HQ (refreshments, supplies, meeting logistics, mail management), always with an eye on culture and community.
Projects
  • Lead initiatives that strengthen belonging, recognition, and engagement across the Group.
  • Contribute to delivery of People team OKRs, supporting projects like employee surveys, recognition programmes, and engagement campaigns.
  • Play a role in cultural integration when new businesses join the Group helping colleagues feel connected to the broader Hometree group without changing their local identity.

Extra Credit

Initial Call (30 mins): An introductory conversation with our Talent Acquisition Partner to learn more about the role and explore your potential fit.

Skills Interview (30 mins): A discussion with our Director of People & Culture focused on your experiences, skills, and approach to problem-solving.

Values Interview (40 mins): A conversation with two of your potential teammates - our People Partner and People Ops Lead - exploring how you align with Hometree's values and ways of working.

Stakeholder Interview (40 mins): Meet with two key stakeholders from across Hometree to discuss your motivations and how you'd collaborate with the wider business.
