Our Client is looking for an experienced HR professional, ideally from the social care sector, who can quickly build strong relationships and operate at both a strategic and hands-on level. You'll lead our first point of contact HR service across the organisation, ensuring it is efficient, compliant, and business-focused.

This is a people leadership role-you'll manage a team of 13 People Partners and Advisers, providing expert guidance on complex employee relations matters, leading on high-level cases, and driving best practice across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver a cost-effective, business-focused HR service.

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of People Partners and Advisers.

  • Advise managers and staff on complex HR issues to achieve satisfactory resolutions.

  • Lead on highly complex employee relations cases.

  • Apply Action for Children policies and procedures consistently.

  • Work collaboratively with People Directorate colleagues to enhance organisational HR knowledge.

  • Oversee HR system data to ensure GDPR compliance.

  • Contribute to team development, structure, and process improvements.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Essential Skills and Experience
  • CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent) qualification.

  • HR background in the social care sector, with operational and strategic experience.

  • Strong UK employment law knowledge and HR compliance expertise.

  • Proven experience managing change programmes, including TUPE and restructures.

  • Skilled in employee relations and best practice case management.

  • Confident in influencing and challenging senior stakeholders.

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people development skills.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
