Pension Investment Analyst

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and analytical DB Pension Investment Analyst to join a leading pensions and investment consultancy. This is an exciting opportunity for an investment professional with a passion for defined benefit pension schemes to play a key role in supporting trustees and sponsoring employers with investment strategy, portfolio monitoring, and risk management.

Working as part of a specialist investment team, you will provide high-quality investment analysis and advice to a portfolio of DB pension scheme clients, helping them achieve their long-term funding and investment objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Support consultants in delivering investment advice to Defined Benefit pension scheme trustee boards.
• Analyse investment performance, asset allocation, and manager performance across a range of investment mandates.
• Assist in the development and implementation of investment strategies, including de-risking and liability-driven investment (LDI) solutions.
• Prepare investment reports, presentations, and trustee meeting papers.
• Monitor investment managers and conduct research on investment products and market developments.
• Undertake portfolio and risk analysis using relevant investment tools and modelling software.
• Assist with investment manager selection and due diligence exercises.
• Contribute to strategic projects relating to funding, risk management, and journey planning exercises.
• Stay informed of regulatory changes, market trends, and industry best practice.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, trustees, investment managers, and clients.

About You

We are looking for candidates who possess:

• Experience within pensions, investments, asset management, actuarial consulting, or investment consulting.
• Strong understanding of Defined Benefit pension schemes and pension investment principles.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Strong report writing and presentation capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and investment analysis tools.
• A degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related discipline.
• Progress towards, or a desire to pursue, a professional qualification such as CFA, FIA, or IMC (advantageous).
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
