About this jobThe Pensions Administrator is responsible for providing an efficient and effective administration and support service for the Pensions team, Payroll based at Buckingham Row, Wigan.
The role acts as the first point of contact for visitors to the Payroll department at Buckingham Row, providing a friendly, approachable and professional service to internal and external customers both virtually and in person.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the receipt, recording and timely distribution of all incoming mail for the Pensions team.
- Triage requests and documents, ensuring they are complete, authorised, and stored accurately in electronic formats.
- Handling enquiries efficiently and courteously, offering guidance on next steps and escalating complex matters.
- Providing managers with advice on best practice and correct procedures.
- Managing and planning own administrative workload to meet deadlines.
- Proactively identifying and reporting opportunities for improvement within the service.
The role requires strong organisational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
