Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Start Date: Immediate / January 2027

Pay Rate: £130-£230 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

Qualification: QTS required

Experience: Minimum 6 months' teaching experience in a UK secondary school

Overview

Education Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a progressive and well respected secondary school in Derby to recruit a dedicated PE Teacher for a position starting immediately or in January 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled PE educator to contribute to a thriving department and support students at KS3, KS4, and potentially KS5. Derby secondary schools offer fantastic sports facilities, active extra curricular programs, and supportive leadership teams dedicated to pupil well being and physical health.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver the KS3 & KS4 PE curriculum, with KS5 teaching available if experienced in Derby
• Plan, prepare, and assess PE lessons in line with department policy
• Monitor student progress and implement appropriate interventions
• Lead extra curricular sports clubs and school fixtures
• Attend staff meetings, CPD, and parents' evenings as required

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Has at least 6 months of classroom teaching PE experience in a UK secondary setting
• Is passionate about Physical Education and student achievement
• Has excellent behaviour management and communication skills
• Demonstrates a collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to school life
