Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Pay Rate: £130-£230 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

Qualification: QTS required

Experience: Minimum 6 months' teaching experience in a UK secondary school

Overview

Education Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a progressive and well-respected secondary school in Derby to recruit a dedicated PE Teacher for a position starting immediately or in January 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled PE educator to contribute to a thriving department and support students at KS3, KS4, and potentially KS5. Derby secondary schools offer fantastic sports facilities, active extra-curricular programs, and supportive leadership teams dedicated to pupil well-being and physical health.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver the KS3 & KS4 PE curriculum, with KS5 teaching available if experienced in Derby
• Plan, prepare, and assess PE lessons in line with department policy
• Monitor student progress and implement appropriate interventions
• Lead extra-curricular sports clubs and school fixtures
• Attend staff meetings, CPD, and parents' evenings as required

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Has at least 6 months of classroom teaching PE experience in a UK secondary setting
• Is passionate about Physical Education and student achievement
• Has excellent behaviour management and communication skills
• Demonstrates a collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to school life
