Job Description
Job Description Purpose of the role

To assess the integrity and effectiveness of the banks internal control framework to support the mitigation of risk and protection of the banks operational, financial, and reputational risk.

Accountabilities

Knowledge of business areas, products, processes and platforms to be able to assess risk

Collaboration with various stakeholders across the bank and business units to improve overall control effectiveness through detailed documentation of control assessments, procedures, and findings.

Identification and investigation of potential weaknesses and issues within internal controls to promote continuous improvement and risk mitigation aligned to the bank's control framework, prioritised by its severity to disrupt bank operations.

Development of reports to communicate key findings from risk assessment including control weaknesses and recommendations to control owners, senior management, and other stakeholders.

Execution of reviews to determine the effectiveness of the bank's internal controls framework aligned to established and evolving policies, regulation, and best practice.

Implementation of adherence to the Barclays Controls Framework and set appropriate methodology of assessing controls against the Controls Framework.

Private Bank and Wealth Management Controls Business Partner Europe

Embark on a transformative journey as a Private Bank and Wealth Management (PBWM) Controls Business Partner Europe at Barclays, where your primary objective is to support the management of the Barclays Europe Private Bank control framework, to ensure compliance with regulatory, reputational, control and governance demands, leading to a superior client experience.

The role holder will work closely with stakeholders across multiple Private Bank locations (e.g. Monaco, Switzerland, Dubai and the UK) and work closely with a range of stakeholders across all lines of defence and of varying levels of seniority.

Required Experience and Skills

To be successful as a PBWM Controls Business Partner Europe, you should have:

  • Experience of working in financial services, ideally within a Private Bank/Wealth Management business.
  • Experience of designing and implementing controls to ensure compliance with Irish and/or European regulations.
  • Quality Assurance/Control Testing and reporting experience.
  • Identification and remediation of Issues / control gaps.
  • Experience of delivering a Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA).
  • Strong stakeholder management experience and the ability to influence others positively.

Other highly valued skills include:

  • In depth knowledge of the Minimum Competency Code and Fitness and Probity Regime.
  • Experience of independent testing of controls, specifically relating to payments, financial crime and investment products.
  • Experience of delivering training to large, diverse groups.

Location and Working Model
  • This role is based in Dublin with a hybrid working model of working a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
Compensation
  • Minimum Salary: €56,000. The minimum salary information above includes only annual full-time equivalent base salary and typically represents the lowest level of pay for this role. The actual pay rate will reflect the responsibility level of the role and experience level of the individual. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
