Payroll Specialist

Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be working with a growing business based in Chesterfield who are looking to appoint an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a payroll professional looking for a standalone role, taking full ownership of the payroll function and playing a key role within the wider business.

The Role

As Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll from start to finish, ensuring compliance with HMRC legislation and maintaining accurate employee records.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Full end-to-end payroll processing
• Managing monthly payroll and ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time
• Processing starters, leavers, changes and statutory payments
• Completing HMRC submissions and ensuring legislative compliance
• Managing pension auto-enrolment and associated administration
• Handling payroll queries and acting as the main point of contact for employees
• Maintaining accurate payroll records and reconciliations
• Supporting year-end processes, including P60s and P11Ds
• Keeping up to date with changes in payroll legislation and ensuring these are implemented effectively

About You

The successful candidate will have strong end-to-end payroll experience and be comfortable working independently within a standalone payroll position. You will have excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the confidence to take ownership of the payroll function.
