This Opportunity

Palladium is seeking a Payroll Manager for a 12-month fixed-term role to provide parental leave cover. This role is accountable and responsiblefor ensuring salaries are processed for payment in an accurate and timelymanner.

The PayrollManager will:

  • Manage the operations of the payrollwithin the established procedures to ensure timely and accurate generationof payroll, statutory deductions, and any internal salary coding
  • Manage administration of the DeltekTime Collection System; updating, reporting and the associated dataintegrity
  • Manage the administration oftimesheets transition process to ensure the cost of salary and employees'benefits are reflected correctly in financial system for all employees inPayroll region
Location

The positionis based in Palladium's London office, within our United Kingdom, Europe, and Africa(UKEA) region. Please note that applicants must have the right to work in theUK, as visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Palladiumsupports a hybrid working model with 3 days in office, 2 days from home.

ReportingLines
  • The role willform part of the Finance Department and will report to theRegionalFinance Director
Primary Rolesand Responsibilities
  • To manage regional payroll workloadfor both Associates, Payroll and self
  • Process assigned payroll payments andany outsourced payrolls accurately and obtain the necessary authorizationfor payments
  • Manage the processing of timesheetsand the posting of timesheet journals against projects at month end (usingthe Cost Point module in the Deltek ERP suite)
  • Reconcile and resolve any coding orsetup errors in employee timesheet data
  • Maintain the payroll master file inconjunction with information and instructions received from HR, Projectmanagement and Operations teams, and the Finance department
  • Ensure that all increases,adjustments, leave, variable pay and bonus provisions are accuratelycalculated and recorded
  • Process payment of expenses orallowances as authorised
  • Ensure that the payroll outsourcingprovider is updated with all changes as required, all data and figuresprovided to them are accurate and submitted on time
  • Regular communication with any payrolloutsourcing providers that Palladium uses
  • Process service termination functionsand onboarding of new employees
  • Verify all transactions for compliancewith Palladium's HR and Financial policies and procedures
  • Coordinate the transfer of salaryfunds to the bank
  • Reconcile accrued salaries and wagesand all payroll relevant accounts in the general ledger
  • Respond to queries from employees andexternal agencies on payroll and benefits related issues
  • Ensure proper filing of all payrollsrecords and maintain confidentiality of records
  • Ensuring compliance with reportingrequirements, processing retirements / pension payments, group and payrolltax as per legislation requirements
  • Deliver Business Activity Statementinformation to the various businesses by due dates
  • Year-end processes and reconciliationsfor Payment Summaries
  • Year-end reconciliations and paymentsto relevant authorities.
    Coordinate and manage external andinternal payroll audit request
  • Formulating any reports as requestedby Management, HR, or Finance
  • Monitor and contribute to continuousimprovement in the payroll and business processes
  • Play an active role in improvingHR/Payroll processes
  • Assist with advice to other payrollfunctions in the designated region
  • Manage and develop team members - setgoals, provide feedback, coach, and mentor
  • Any other duties assigned by theFinance Director
  • Additional tasks as required
  • Payroll Management Certificate orsimilar
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in fullfunction of Payroll processing
  • Experience working with Deltek GCS orCostpoint accounting system an advantage
  • Experience working with major payrollsystems, ADP/Equiom experience advantageous
  • Knowledge of multi-state payrolltaxes
  • Understanding of payroll principles,practices, regulations, and procedures
  • Project accounting / experience ofprocessing timesheet data and posting the resulting journals againstprojects in an ERP is essential
  • Understanding of basic accountingpractices and procedures
  • High standard of written and verbalcommunication skills
  • High level of attention to details andaccuracy
  • Quick starter: Ability to deal withcomplex problems, employment contracts and related issues
  • Ability to work independently and alsobe able to operate as part of a team and able to communicate in a friendlyand polite manner
  • Sound decision making skills
  • Ability to communicate effectivelywith different cultural contexts and negotiate persuasively with highlevel as well as other employees
  • Diploma or Degree in Accountingadvantageous, but not required
