Payroll Manager - Permanent

Salary: £30,000 - £38,000
Location: South Devon
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Start: ASAP

Are you an experienced Payroll professional looking for your next opportunity with a growing and supportive organisation?

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee a varied payroll function. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business where you'll play a key role in delivering accurate, compliant payroll services while building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have previous payroll experience and be confident managing multiple payrolls, advising on payroll matters and ensuring compliance with current legislation.

This position would suit an experienced Payroll Manager, Payroll Assistant or Payroll Administrator who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and delivering an exceptional level of service.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls for both fixed and variable paid employees
  • Managing workplace pension auto-enrolment, declarations and re-enrolment
  • Advising on director salary levels and payroll best practice
  • Preparing and submitting monthly CIS returns and processing CIS reclaims
  • Completing P11Ds and advising on the information required
  • Assessing Employment Allowance eligibility
  • Liaising with stakeholders regarding PAYE liabilities, payroll queries and tax code notifications
  • Liaising with HMRC on payroll-related matters
  • Processing wage and PAYE payments through Modulr
  • Calculating holiday entitlement and statutory payments, including SSP, SMP and other statutory leave
  • Explaining payroll changes and ensuring compliance with current legislation
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records and delivering a high level of service
What We're Looking For
  • Previous payroll experience
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, pensions and CIS
  • Experience processing multiple payrolls with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Experience using BrightPay would be highly advantageous
  • A proactive approach and commitment to delivering an excellent service
