Job Description
Role Profile

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Shared Services, the Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of payroll within the organisation. This role ensures the accurate and timely processing of employee salaries and wages, benefits, and statutory deductions, while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation and company policies. The Payroll Manager acts as the main point of contact for payroll related queries and provides expert guidance to the payroll team.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the payroll team, driving high performance and accountability to achieve team objectives, KPI's and service standards
  • Manage the end to end payroll process (including employee expenses, BIK etc.) for all employees, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
  • Ensure compliance with all payroll related laws, regulations, and best practices, including PAYE, PRSI, and pension contributions
  • Maintain and update payroll systems and records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality
  • Prepare and submit statutory returns and reports to Revenue and other relevant authorities
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee queries in a timely and professional manner
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to coordinate payroll related activities and support business objectives and processes
  • Monitor and review processes for continuous improvement and implement changes as required
  • Keep abreast of any changes in payroll legislation and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and remediation of any findings
  • Proactively manage payroll risks and implement mitigation plans
  • Ensure business continuity planning for payroll operations
  • Ad hoc work as required
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications (such as PPM / CPT) or equivalent are desirable
  • Proven experience in payroll management, ideally within a medium to large organisation
  • In depth knowledge of payroll legislation, processes, and systems (e.g., SAP)
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
