Our payroll team plays a vital role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our organisation. Working closely with colleagues across Operations, People and Culture, Finance, Operational Risk, and the wider business, as well as external payroll providers, we strive to deliver a seamless payroll experience. The team is dedicated to maintaining compliance, supporting our employees, and continually improving our payroll processes. While Macquarie offers hybrid working for many of our roles, this role does require 3 days a week in our advertised location.

At Macquarie, our advantage is bringing together diverse people and empowering them to shape all kinds of possibilities. We are a global financial services group operating in 31 markets and with 56 years of unbroken profitability. You'll be part of a friendly and supportive team where everyone - no matter what role - contributes ideas and drives outcomes.

What role will you play?

As Payroll Manager, you work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of our payroll operations. You use your strong interpersonal, analytical, and research skills to solve problems, identify and deliver process improvements, and help reduce risk. You respond to queries from stakeholders, always aiming to provide clear and timely solutions. Your attention to detail supports accurate payroll processing and compliance with relevant legislation. You contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our payroll systems and procedures.

What you offer
  • Experience managing end-to-end payroll processes, including payroll calculations, tax and social security withholding, and benefits administration, preferably across multiple EMEA countries
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation and regulations, with a focus on general tax compliance
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel functions, formulas, macros, and data visualisation
  • Ability to analyse large datasets to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement
  • Excellent problem solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying improvements
  • Effective communication skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders

We love hearing from anyone inspired to build a better future with us. If you're excited about the role or working at Macquarie we encourage you to apply.

What we offer
  • 1 wellbeing leave day per year and a minimum of 25 days of annual leave.
  • 26 weeks' paid parental leave for primary caregivers along with 12 days of paid transition leave upon return to work and 6 weeks' paid leave for secondary caregivers
  • Paid fertility leave for those undergoing or supporting fertility treatment
  • 2 days of paid volunteer leave and donation matching
  • Access to a wide range of salary sacrificing options
  • Benefits and initiatives to support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing including comprehensive medical and life insurance cover
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Program, a robust behavioural health network with counselling and coaching services
  • Access to a wide range of learning and development opportunities, including reimbursement for professional membership or subscription
  • Access to company funded emergency and backup dependent care services
  • Recognition and service awards
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements, dependent on role
  • Reimbursement for work from home equipment
