Central Bristol (Hybrid Working)

£30,000 - £35,000 per annum (part time - minimum 30 hours can be considered)

12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Hybrid Working (2-3 days in the office per week)

Are you an experienced payroll professional looking for your next opportunity?

We're working with a well-established Bristol organisation to recruit a Payroll Administrator on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Working closely with the Payroll Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of payroll for approximately 1,200 employees.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with payroll experience who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and delivering an accurate and efficient payroll service.

The Role

As Payroll Administrator, you will:

  • Assist the Payroll Manager with the preparation and processing of monthly payrolls
  • Support payroll delivery for approximately 1,200 employees
  • Process new starters, leavers and payroll changes
  • Liaise with HR and internal stakeholders to ensure payroll information is accurate
  • Review tax codes, deductions and payroll inputs
  • Calculate holiday pay, sick pay, maternity pay and other statutory payments
  • Respond to employee payroll queries
  • Issue P45s and other payroll documentation
  • Maintain payroll records and support compliance with payroll legislation
  • Work with payroll systems and payroll data to ensure accurate and timely processing

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:

  • Previous payroll experience
  • Strong data handling and payroll administration skills
  • Good Excel and IT skills
  • Experience carrying out manual payroll calculations
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to work to strict payroll deadlines
  • A professional and confidential approach to handling sensitive information
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style
