We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team on a 15-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity leave cover. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within the payroll function. This role will be based in our head office in Cleaboy Business Park, Waterford.

Role overview

This role is critical in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll while maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation and internal policies.

What you will be doing?
  • Prepare and process payroll on a weekly/monthly basis with a high degree of accuracy for several Irish entities
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including new starters, leavers, and employee changes
  • Calculate pay, including salaries, overtime, bonuses, and statutory deductions
  • Ensure compliance with tax, social insurance, pension, and employment legislation
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files, ensuring full compliance and confidentiality
  • Respond to payroll discrepancies by gathering, analysing and correcting information in a timely and professional manner
  • Liaise with HR and Finance to ensure accurate employee data
  • Support audits by providing payroll documentation and reports
  • Assist in maintaining and improving payroll processes and systems
Is this the job for me?
  • 2 - 3 years' payroll experience in a similar role or payroll/accounts
  • IPASS qualification or equivalent required
  • Proficiency with payroll and accounting systems along with strong Excel skills
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., Sage, Coins, Time & Attendance systems, Web Expenses or equivalent)
  • Good understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
  • Experience managing payroll in a fast-paced or high-volume environment
  • Exposure to international or multi-jurisdiction payroll (an advantage)
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
  • Proactive and solution-focused approach
