About the Role We are excited to offer a newly created opportunity for a Pathology Directorate Business Support Manager. This is a key role that will support the development, coordination and continuous improvement of directorate wide business processes, ensuring they are efficient, robust and aligned to both Trust priorities and our Pathology Strategy.

This role sits at the centre of directorate activity and will work closely with the Operations Manager and Associate Operations Manager to support delivery of key objectives, projects and transformation programmes across Pathology.

The post holder will manage the provision of PA and administrative support to the Directorate, ensuring a high quality, responsive and professional service that enables the effective running of the Directorate Senior Management Team and wider operational functions.

Main duties of the job We are looking for an individual who thrives in a complex and fast paced environment and is motivated by improvement and innovation. You will be someone who can confidently manage multiple priorities while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

You will bring the ability to:

Given the nature of Pathology services, the role requires strong organisational skills and a meticulous approach to ensure the directorate remains compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The Pathology directorate works with multiple accreditation bodies and therefore a structured, quality focused approach is essential.

You will also act as a key representative of the Directorate, engaging with colleagues, service users and external partners. Professionalism, integrity and an understanding that your actions reflect on the wider Directorate are critical to success in this role.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level or NVQ level 4 or equivalent experience
  • Postgraduate education or equivalent experience
  • Customer Service/ Business Admin /ITQ or equivalent professional experience

  • Other relevant management qualification or equivalent experience
  • Specific technical/professional qualification such as PRINCE 2 Project Management
Experience
  • Experience of managing an administrative service, projects or equivalent
