Position: Pastoral Support Officer
Location: St Pius X Catholic High School, Wath Wood Road, Wath upon Dearne, Rotherham, South Yorkshire, S63 7PQ.
Contract: Permanent - term time only (includes 2 INSET days).
Hours: 37 per week (full time).
Salary: DHSF2 Band D £25,584 - £25,989 (Actual Salary £22,273 - £23,091).
Closing date: 9 am, Thursday 20 August 2026.
- Provide informal and formal support to students in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Subject Leaders, Class Teachers, Student Support Managers, Heads of Year and the SENDCo.
- Collaborate with the administrative team, parents, family support officers, social workers and other agencies to safeguard and promote the well being of pupils.
- Deliver pastoral care activities, including mentoring, conflict resolution and the implementation of school improvement initiatives.
- Participate in school reviews, safeguarding meetings and institutions' welfare programmes.
Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to pastoral care, empathy and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Relevant experience or training in education, counselling or social work is desirable. The role requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
