About Us

We are seeking to appoint two professionals with aspirational expectations for young people, and high standards, both of themselves and for those around them.

The Pastoral Team play a vital role at the heart of St Andrew's vision and ethos, which is rooted in values like respect, responsibility, and integrity.

These positions are integral to reinforcing and enhancing positive working relationships between home and school, fostering an inclusive environment where all students can thrive. We are looking for individuals who genuinely embody these values and are passionate about making a difference in young people's lives.

There are two distinct types of Pastoral Support Officer, each with a defined specialism. Both roles share a common commitment to student welfare and work closely with Year Leaders across the school. Candidates should indicate clearly at application which specialism they are applying for.

Type 1: Behaviour Support PSO

Focused on direct student-facing behaviour incident management, operational behaviour management, mentoring and restorative support. This PSO works alongside students and Year Leaders to address and investigate behaviour in the moment, supporting the implementation of the behaviour policy.

Type 2: Year Leader Admin PSO

Focused on the administrative and organisational functions that support Year Leaders in managing their year groups effectively. This PSO ensures systems, communications and records are managed efficiently.

Job Details

Salary: Grade 5 £26,403 (pro rata £22,747)

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, Term time + INSET days

Location: Worthing

Interviews: Week beginning Monday 13th July 2026
