We are looking for a knowledgeable and customer focused Parts Advisor to join a busy automotive business in Rotherham. This is an excellent temporary to permanent opportunity for someone with experience in automotive parts who enjoys building relationships with business customers and delivering outstanding service.
As a Parts Advisor, you will be the main point of contact for business customers requiring automotive parts and related services. You will provide expert advice, process orders accurately, manage customer enquiries, and work closely with suppliers, warehouse teams, and internal departments to ensure customers receive the right parts at the right time.
This role would suit someone with strong automotive parts knowledge who thrives in a fast paced environment and enjoys providing excellent customer service while supporting commercial accounts.
Temporary to permanent, subject to a successful 12 week performance review
Hours or shifts
Monday to Friday with shifts of either 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm, plus a half day every other Saturday.
Key responsibilities
- Process incoming orders and enquiries from business customers, ensuring accurate parts identification, pricing, and stock availability.
- Advise customers on parts compatibility, specifications, and suitable product options.
- Monitor and manage stock levels while coordinating with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure prompt order fulfilment.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial customers through regular communication and excellent customer service.
- Work closely with sales and service teams to improve customer satisfaction and identify opportunities to increase parts sales.
- Resolve customer queries and complaints professionally, providing effective solutions.
- Keep up to date with automotive parts, manufacturers, and industry developments.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales, and transactions using company systems.
- Follow company procedures, industry standards, and health and safety requirements at all times.
Skills and experience required
- Previous experience in automotive parts sales, supply chain, or stock management within a business to business environment.
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts, vehicle systems, and aftermarket products.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build lasting relationships with commercial customers.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and parts management or ERP systems.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem solving skills.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to understand and interpret technical information.
- A proactive, flexible, and team focused approach to work.
What is on offer
- £13.19 per hour for the first 12 week period and a salary of £29,500 subject to a successful performance review / permanent position offered
