We are looking for an organised and proactive Clinical Administrator to join our friendly GP practice in the heart of Woodbridge. This is a varied role supporting our clinical team with referrals, patient records, correspondence and general administration, helping to deliver high-quality patient care.
Job SummaryThe Clinical Administrator provides high-quality administrative support to the clinical team, ensuring the efficient management of referrals, patient correspondence, medical records, and practice administration. The post holder will act as a key point of contact for patients, assisting with general enquiries and supporting them in accessing practice services effectively.
The role requires excellent organisational, communication, and IT skills, together with the ability to maintain confidentiality, work accurately under pressure, and contribute positively to the smooth running of the practice.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Administration- Liaise with patients regarding their care and support GPs in coordinating appropriate care pathways.
- Process referrals and patient correspondence as directed by the clinical team.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of referral pathways and NHS processes.
- Send referrals and Medical Certificates of Cause of Death (MCCDs) to the Medical Examiner.
- Provide requested information to the Coroner's Office in accordance with practice procedures.
- Submit Advice and Guidance requests via the NHS e-Referral Service (e-RS).
- Monitor referrals submitted through e-RS and ensure rejected referrals are identified and actioned promptly.
- Liaise with the GP Liaison Officer at the Nuffield Hospital regarding referral activity and consultant updates.
- Raise Serious Incidents through the DATIX system for Ipswich Hospital as required.
- Support GP Links administration.
- Process Summary Care Record updates.
- Assist with insurance reports and other medical reports as required.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.30am-2.30pm (25 hours per week), with flexibility to provide additional cover when required.
Rate of pay: £13 per hour
