Overview

Part-time Clerical Officer - Pre-Assessment Clinic - UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic, Dublin

Location: UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic, Dublin

Job type: Part-time Contract of Employment (25 hours per week)

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring patient data is filed in the appropriate patient's chart.
  • Liaising with GP offices requesting medical information.
  • Managing incoming faxes and filing outside of the patient's chart for medical doctor to sign, then filing in patient's correspondence.
  • Filing lab reports, microbiology reports, and ECGs in patients' charts.
  • Ensuring patient details, medical questionnaires, and appropriate fax correspondence are correct before filing.
  • Filing all bloods on a daily basis.
  • Assisting medical team with outgoing faxes, scanning requests, and data required from GP/consultants' offices.
  • Ensuring charts required for surgery are completed in a timely, accurate, and comprehensive manner for review.
  • Answering telephone queries in PAC and dealing with queries as they arise.
  • Updating patient files and maintaining patient confidentiality in all aspects of medical records.
  • Typing, photocopying, scanning, filing, tidying, and maintenance of medical records as required.
  • Checking stock levels of stationery and re-ordering supplies daily.
  • When PAC charts are completed, placing them in the appropriate filing cabinet.
  • Collecting pre-assessment mail from admissions.
  • Checking voicemails daily and logging and communicating messages to clinical staff.
  • Maintaining a flexible attitude and understanding confidentiality and data protection.
  • You may be required, from time to time, to work in other departments within the UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic, at the discretion of the Director of Nursing.
  • Demonstrating behaviour consistent with the values of the clinic and creating healthy working relationships.
  • Liaising with wound clinic and scheduling patient wound clinic appointments.
  • Liaising with the cardiology department and scheduling Echo appointments.
  • Liaising with the Phlebotomy department to schedule patients for return appointments.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Educated to Leaving Certificate standard.
  • At least 2 years of previous clerical experience.
  • Previous experience of working within an acute/clinical setting.
  • Computer literate.
