PARALEGAL (RIGHT TO MANAGE)
- Odevo UK • Competitive • Hybrid - London
ROLE OVERVIEW
You will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality Right to Manage (RTM) services to leaseholder clients, using a meticulous approach to detail and a calm, organised style to run your own caseload end-to-end. From early-stage eligibility checks to acquisition, you will keep every matter moving, anticipating risks, meeting deadlines, and communicating clearly with all parties.
You will also be part of Odevo's technology-enabled legal services journey. You will embrace digital tools, contribute ideas to improve workflows, and use data and automation to drive consistency, speed, and a better experience for residents, landlords, and internal teams.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
Most days, you will progress a portfolio of RTM matters, preparing and serving notices, drafting documents, managing timelines, and liaising with clients, freeholders, and agents. You will keep immaculate records in our case management system, provide timely updates, and collaborate with colleagues in property management and tech to refine processes and solve problems.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- You move RTM cases from instruction to acquisition smoothly, on time, and with minimal escalations.
- Your files are accurate, audit-ready, and demonstrate consistent application of RTM procedures and statutory timelines.
- Clients feel informed and supported, with proactive updates and clear, jargon-free advice.
- You spot risks early, propose practical solutions, and escalate only when needed.
- You use technology to increase speed and quality, contributing ideas that improve templates and workflows.
- You build trusted relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, helping resolve issues collaboratively.
HOW YOU'LL SPEND MOST OF YOUR TIME
- Conducting RTM eligibility checks, title reviews, and due diligence on buildings, leases, and tenant participation.
- Preparing, serving, and tracking statutory notices, including Notices of Invitation to Participate and Notices of Claim.
- Managing critical dates, responses, and counter-notices, and coordinating the acquisition process.
- Drafting correspondence and standard documents, and maintaining accurate file notes and document bundles.
- Liaising with leaseholders, RTM company directors, landlords, managing agents, and external advisors.
- Updating the case management system, generating reports, and refining templates and processes with our tech tools.
WHO THIS ROLE IS FOR
- You are detail-obsessed, organised, and comfortable running your own caseload with appropriate oversight.
- You communicate clearly and empathetically, tailoring explanations to non-legal audiences.
- You stay calm under pressure, prioritise effectively, and keep multiple matters moving at pace.
- You are tech-curious, keen to use and improve digital tools that enhance quality and efficiency.
- You take ownership, seek feedback, and enjoy working collaboratively to deliver great outcomes.
EXPERIENCE THAT HELPS
- Exposure to leasehold law, RTM processes, or property litigation in a law firm, in-house team, or specialist service provider.
- Hands-on experience with case management systems, document automation, or data-driven dashboards.
- Drafting and serving statutory notices, and managing matter timelines and critical dates.
- Client-facing experience, balancing empathy with commercial pragmatism in written and verbal communications.
- Coordinating multi-stakeholder matters and preparing orderly, audit-ready legal files.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive salary
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Salary sacrifice scheme and the option to buy annual leave
- Spectrum Life wellbeing platform
- Cycle to Work scheme
- Fully funded training and professional development
- Employee referral scheme, up to £1,500
ABOUT ODEVO UK
We are on a mission to become the leading international force in residential property management. What we do matters to billions of people in their everyday lives.
Residential real estate is the world's largest asset class, and for most families, buying a home is the single biggest financial decision they will ever make. For too long, residential property management has fallen short of homeowners' and residents' expectations, and the industry is ready for change. Odevo was formed to make that change happen.
In just six years, Odevo has grown more than 70-fold, establishing us as the leading international player. We are more than 12,000 people across the US, the UK, the Nordics, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, and Italy building Odevo. Together, we aspire to break new ground through innovation and cultivate a workplace where we help each other succeed, where ideas matter more than titles, and where kindness is a strength.
By combining the power of people and technology, we set a new standard for how homes are managed. Our technology-enabled services simplify living for residents and create a better experience for property owners and boards.
Our ambition is to continue our fast-growing journey through new customers, service expansion, and by partnering with great companies that share our mindset and ambition, both in existing and new markets.
As we continue to grow, we stay true to who we are, challenge unnecessary bureaucracy, and keep decision-making close to our customers.
If you share our mindset and ambition, we'd love you to join us and help accelerate our mission together.
