Job Description

LSL is a one of the largest providers of services to mortgage intermediaries, specialist mortgage and protection advice to estate agency and new build customers and valuation services to the UK's biggest mortgage lenders. It also operates a network of owned and franchised estate agency branches.

Based within our Group Legal Team in York, we are looking to recruit a Paralegal to provide support to the Group Legal Team with a wide variety of matters spanning across all areas of the LSL Group.

Location: York - on site office-based.

Role Purpose

To provide legal and administrative support to the Legal Team, assisting with a broad range of legal matters and ensuring the efficient delivery of legal services across the business. The role supports solicitors, contract administration, regulatory compliance, and corporate transactions whilst maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and prepare summaries, reports, and recommendations.
  • Draft, review, and amend legal documents, including contracts, NDAs, agreements, and correspondence.
  • Support solicitors and legal professionals on commercial, corporate, regulatory, and dispute resolution matters.
  • Assist with contract management, document control, and legal record keeping.
  • Monitor legal deadlines and maintain case and matter tracking systems.
  • Prepare documentation for corporate transactions and business projects.
  • Support regulatory and compliance activities.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external legal advisers where required.
  • Assist with updating policies, procedures, and customer-facing terms and conditions.
  • Ensure confidential information is handled appropriately at all times.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Law degree, Legal Practice qualification, or equivalent legal education.
  • Previous paralegal experience desirable but not essential.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal document management systems.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of legal risk.
