Job Description

Paralegal - Investment Banking

  • Entry Level / 1-2 years' experience
  • £200-300 per day Inside IR35
  • London Based 2-3 Days a week
  • Initial 6 month Contract


This role is to work on a contract basis for a large Investment Bank working within their Structured Securities. This team work on high volumes of Securities Issuance Documentation for stocks and bonds.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting securities issuance documentation cross asset classes
  • Maintaining meticulous records and carefully following defined processes.
  • Learning structured securities product, applicable legal rules and processes with a view to expanding responsibilities over time.
  • Negotiating distribution agreements
  • Procuring and analysing cross-border legal advice from external law firms in order to provide appropriate legal advice to business teams.
  • Working collaboratively with other team members to manage workload.


Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Completion of a law degree and/or an equivalent conversion course.
  • A desire to enter the legal profession, with an interest in financial markets.
  • An outgoing and robust personality who is capable of working both autonomously and collaboratively as part of a cross-disciplinary team/department
  • Clear, concise and effective communicator (both written and oral)
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise work
  • This role requires a high degree of organisation and planning skills together, numeracy, attention to detail, logical thinking and teamwork
  • This role would suit a recent graduate or a paralegal seeking to start or continue a career in financial markets law, or a recent qualifier seeking to gain experience in this discipline.
