Job Description
Paralegal - Investment Banking
- Entry Level / 1-2 years' experience
- £200-300 per day Inside IR35
- London Based 2-3 Days a week
- Initial 6 month Contract
This role is to work on a contract basis for a large Investment Bank working within their Structured Securities. This team work on high volumes of Securities Issuance Documentation for stocks and bonds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting securities issuance documentation cross asset classes
- Maintaining meticulous records and carefully following defined processes.
- Learning structured securities product, applicable legal rules and processes with a view to expanding responsibilities over time.
- Negotiating distribution agreements
- Procuring and analysing cross-border legal advice from external law firms in order to provide appropriate legal advice to business teams.
- Working collaboratively with other team members to manage workload.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Completion of a law degree and/or an equivalent conversion course.
- A desire to enter the legal profession, with an interest in financial markets.
- An outgoing and robust personality who is capable of working both autonomously and collaboratively as part of a cross-disciplinary team/department
- Clear, concise and effective communicator (both written and oral)
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise work
- This role requires a high degree of organisation and planning skills together, numeracy, attention to detail, logical thinking and teamwork
- This role would suit a recent graduate or a paralegal seeking to start or continue a career in financial markets law, or a recent qualifier seeking to gain experience in this discipline.
