The Major Injury and Casualty team at DWF is one of the largest in the UK and nationally recognised for its work on complex, high value claims. We act for a wide range of well known insurer clients, dealing with catastrophic and large loss matters resulting in an interesting and rewarding set of cases for you to work on.

We are currently looking for a motivated Paralegal to the team in our Liverpool office, located in the City Centre.

As Paralegal you will assist senior team members who deal with a range of high value files (up to £20 million), including injuries of utmost severity such as brain injury, spinal injury, amputations, polytrauma, brachial plexus injury, severe psychiatric injury and chronic pain.

You'll be joining a supportive, inclusive team where collaboration, learning and high quality client service are at the heart of what we do. This role has the flexibility to be offered on a hybrid basis from our Liverpool office, with 2/3 days per week in the office.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting senior team members with the progression of a multi-track, Catastrophic Injury caseload.
  • Drafting court documents, attending court hearings, working to court deadlines.
  • Assisting on liability investigations, gathering evidence and preparing advice to clients.
  • Identifying medical experts and preparing instructions.
  • Reviewing medical records and other case related documents.
  • General day to day administration tasks including keeping the case management system up to date and in line with client service level requirements.
  • Providing the highest level of client care at all times.
What will help you succeed in this role? Essential
  • Relevant legal qualifications i.e. LLB, potentially LPC (not essential).
  • Legal Assistant/Paralegal or similar experience within a related area of law could be advantageous.
  • An aptitude for learning and personal development.
  • The ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable
  • We would welcome applications from those with previous Personal Injury experience.
