Job Description

Immediate start available for an experienced Painter & Decorator in Southall. Temp 3-month contract with an early finish on Fridays. Work within a secure healthcare environment carrying out maintenance, repairs and refurbishment projects. Excellent opportunity for a skilled multi-trade operative. Painter and Decorator Location: Southall, West London Salary: £14.62 per hour Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00-16:30 Friday 08:00-16:00 Contract: Temporary - 3 Months

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Painter and Decorator to join their Estates and Facilities team on a temporary basis. This varied role will involve maintaining and improving buildings, fixtures, fittings and internal finishes across a busy and secure environment. Working as part of a skilled maintenance team, you will undertake both planned and reactive works, ensuring facilities remain safe, compliant and presented to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out painting and decorating works across the site
  • Repair and maintain building fabric, fixtures and fittings
  • Complete planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks
  • Undertake basic cross-trade works including carpentry, glazing and plumbing repairs
  • Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs
  • Assist with refurbishment and improvement projects
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work and materials used
  • Escort contractors in secure areas when required
  • Adhere to all health and safety, compliance and security procedures
  • Work at height using appropriate access equipment when necessary
  • Travel between sites as required
  • Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota when required
What We're Looking For
  • Recognised apprenticeship or approved training scheme City & Guilds Part II, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience within painting and decorating or a building maintenance environment
  • Multi-trade maintenance experience advantageous
  • Strong understanding of health and safety procedures
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK manual driving licence
  • Own tools and PPE
  • Computer literate
  • Standard DBS is essential for this role
