Hourly Pay Rate: £16.25

About the Role

The Packing Team Leader is responsible for leading the packing team to ensure all products are packed accurately, safely, and on time in line with the production plan. The role ensures products meet quality, food safety, and customer specifications while maintaining full product traceability and supporting the achievement of daily operational targets.

Working Hours
  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday: 07:00 - 15:30
  • Flexibility and occasional overtime required to meet operational demands.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the packing team to achieve daily production and packing targets.
  • Ensure products are packed accurately in line with product specifications and build guides.
  • Maintain full product traceability through accurate documentation, date coding, and FIFO.
  • Carry out in-process and finished goods quality checks.
  • Complete production and packing documentation accurately and within required timescales.
  • Monitor packing materials and report shortages or stock discrepancies.
  • Support waste reduction initiatives and ensure waste is recorded and disposed of correctly.
  • Maintain compliance with GMP, quality, food safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing Health & Safety policies and PPE requirements.
  • Lead, support, and motivate the packing team to achieve operational targets.
  • Report quality, stock, or production issues promptly to the Production Manager.
  • Work collaboratively across departments and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Previous experience leading or supervising a team.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of food hygiene and quality standards.
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing, packing, or production.
