We have an opportunity for a General Manager to take day to day control of a London based SME packaging company. We are looking for a star candidate who can drive the effective strategic management and direction of the business. You will oversee all activities i.e. sales, commercial, business development, production processes, supply chain, H&S/quality.

We are looking for a driven individual with bags of experience in the packaging industry. Your role will be to guide and direct each department, ensuring organisational goals are met. The best General Managers establish goals that force the organisation to stretch in order to achieve them. Not unrealistic ones that are bound to be missed, but goals that won't allow anyone to forget about the competitive arena in which our client operates. Due to the nature of this role's objectives role, our client is looking for candidates who have come up the sales route rather than being from a production background.

You will ensure effective operations by monitoring results, comparing actual performance to established standards and taking appropriate actions as required. It is therefore important we find someone who is results driven with a proven track record of positively affecting an organisation. Ultimately as General Manager, you will ensure profitability by managing output to achieve operational excellence.

This role requires a self-motivated, flexible team player who can show an ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, as well as strong attention to detail and accuracy. The core skills of drive and energy combined with proven management ability will be key to success in this role. You will also be required to identify and implement improvements in key areas, and challenge processes for continual improvements. We are looking for a forward thinking, critically minded candidate who can think outside the box and bring fresh ideas to the table.

The ideal candidate for this position will be someone who is currently in a packaging general manager role with sales experience, or an ambitious sales person who is looking to progress to general manager, or possibly even more senior in the future!
