Package Manager

The Package Manager will be responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of work packages, ensuring works are delivered safely, to the required quality, programme and commercial expectations. The role will act as the key point of control between the project team, suppliers, manufacturing, site teams and subcontractors. You will be ensuring that works are properly planned, risks and constraints are identified early, and the required information, materials, resources and approvals are in place to support successful delivery on a live nuclear licensed site.
The Package Manager will provide clear leadership and ownership of their packages from preconstruction through to installation, handover and close out, ensuring progress is actively managed, issues are escalated where required, and delivery is aligned with the wider project requirements.
Explore your tasks and responsibilities- In line with defined project sizes, plan, monitor, determine and arrange resource levels, materials requirements and site demands to ensure efficient operation of the Project package.
- Review and understand client specifications. Prepare internal specifications and manufacturing details.
- Take a leading role in building services co-ordination exercises in conjunction with any contractual obligations
- Coordinate with the design and engineering department to ensure that the correct standards, specifications and information is produced in order that the project targets and obligations are achieved.
- Assist and define in the procurement of equipment and materials to comply with requirements and delivery needs.
- Contribute to the commercial management of the project. Be aware of specific project commercial constraints.
- Recognise variations and delays to the tendered scope of works and ensure they are properly reported and recorded.
- Contribute and provide information for the submission of valuations and invoices.
- Receive information from Project Manager or Lead Project Engineer. Review and understand package requirements and documentation and highlight discrepancies.
- Carry out accurate site surveys and site measures and demonstrate flexibility in terms of site visiting / being site based as necessary.
- Develop a working relationship with the client.
- Attend site meetings as required by the Project Manager or Lead Project Engineer, to expand and develop relationships and promote the company positively
- Be aware of and be familiar with current industry standards and specifications relevant to ventilation systems.
- Good communication skills at all levels.
- Ability to represent the best interests of the company in direct dealings with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
- A conscientious, positive and reliable attitude to performing the task.
- Understanding of company's contractual obligations.
- Demonstrable experience leading and managing construction packages on major nuclear, energy or complex infrastructure projects
- Sound working knowledge of construction methods, sequencing and site logistics on a live nuclear licensed site, sufficient to manage scope, challenge information, and make informed delivery decisions.
- Working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 forms of contract, and ability to manage day-today site activities, including permits to work, RAMS and health & safety compliance
- Experience managing interfaces between civils, M&E and other trades on site, ensuring coordinated and buildable solutions.
