Location: London - Hybrid working with a 40% office requirement

The Vacancy

We are looking for an experienced Organisational Risk Manager to join FSCS on an 8-month fixed-term contract.

Reporting into the Head of Risk and Compliance, the successful candidate will ensure risk data quality and develop and maintain strategically relevant, timely, and reliable management information for the Board and Executive, covering the entirety of FSCS Risk Profile.

Key Priorities
  1. Lead, manage, maintain and improve the Risk Management Framework by gathering feedback, performing independent research on best practices, and proposing changes to the Head of Risk & Compliance.
  2. Ensure the risk management framework remains appropriate and proportionate to support the effective management of risks and issues.
  3. Provide advice and partner with management across business functions to provide leadership, guidance, support, and challenge for the effective implementation of the Risk Management Framework.
  4. Drive efficiencies and improvements in reporting processes, contributing to enhancements in risk management processes and the Scheme's Risk Management Framework to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  5. Contribute to the wider success of the Risk & Compliance Team through the development of the Risk & Resilience Lifecycle.
  6. Work with key stakeholders to deliver high-quality risk reporting to Risk Owners, the Executive, and the Board.
  7. Define and execute performance, event, and action reporting to drive efficiencies and inform risk reviews.
Key Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  1. Ability to create and maintain effective relationships across the three lines of defence and interact with senior stakeholders.
  2. Ability to research, evidence, and recommend improvements to risk management practices.
  3. Ability to manage and develop people to achieve priorities.
  4. Excellent presentation and communication skills, both oral and written.
  5. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  6. Ability to interpret and analyse data.
  7. Knowledge of Business Continuity and Incident/Crisis Management is an advantage.
