Oracle Systems Manager (HCM)
Initial 3 month contract - £500 per day (inside IR35) - 2-3 days per week on site
Our London based Public Sector client are looking for an Oracle Systems Manager (HCM) to join the team on an initial 3 month contract. The successful applicant must have experience managing a team of Systems Administrators and have must have commercial HCM experience, particularly with transitioning to Oracles Absence case solution to manage statutory absences.
Key experience required for the Oracle Systems Manager (HCM):
Lead strategic governance, configuration and maintenance of the Oracle Fusion platform to ensure stability, performance, and adherence to ITIL practices, mitigating risk to core Back Office functions.
Optimise the Oracle platform for performance, scalability and resilience, aligned with Oracle best practice, to minimise downtime and guarantee an appropriate level of service performance.
Direct resource planning and allocation to maintain service continuity, availability and effective system support.
Oversee the strategic design and governance of proactive insight-driven monitoring across logs, metrics and alerts to anticipate risks, prevent incidents, and enable rapid, informed issue resolution where they may occur.
Lead the overall management and resolution of system incidents and outages in line with SLA and KPI expectations ensuring there is minimal impact to the organisation, regular communications provided (including to Senior Stakeholders) and a robust root cause analysis is provided to support long-term problem-management and prevent recurring issues.
Provide strategic oversite and manage escalations from stakeholders and users, ensuring effective communication and resolution of system-related concerns using these as an opportunity to learn and improve processes.
Oversee accountability and performance of external Managed Service providers to ensure SLA-compliant outcomes providing reports and data for review at the Oracle Governance Board.
Ensure high-quality, comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures and operational processes to reduce risks and avoid single points of failure.
Produce strategic reporting on system performance, trends, incidents and RCA findings to inform senior leadership decisions.
Set the strategic direction for the System Administration team ensuring adherence to SLAs for incidents and service requests and lead negotiation of new or improved service levels where required.
Act as the organisation's Oracle System Administration subject matter expert, developing team skills, mentoring colleagues, setting expectations and maintaining specialist capability.
Provide strategic oversight and technical leadership to ensure system administration activities adhere to Oracle best-practice standards, embedding robust governance, controlled configuration management, and disciplined operational processes that safeguard platform stability, strengthen security, to ensure a resilient, high-performing Oracle Fusion system.
Collaborate with the Oracle Experience Manager and Data, Reporting & Analytics Manager to assess technical risks and ensure enhancements maintain system integrity.
Responsible for ensuring the team supports the execution of change and release activities (including monthly/quarterly updates), ensuring that all changes are rigorously tested (including regression testing) and implemented to maintain system stability, safeguard core system functionality and minimise disruption to operational services
Responsible for ensuring all configuration workbooks (CWB's), solution design documentation (SDD's) and process maps are fully developed, consistently maintained and kept up to date to support effective system governance and continuous improvement.
Provide strategic leadership to a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team championing a culture of collaboration, accountability, professional growth and continuous improvement, ensuring staff are coached, supported, and equipped with effective training and development opportunities to deliver a first-class service with exceptional customer satisfaction.
Ensure system-related budgets are effectively planned, monitored, and met including proactive management of change-related costs, optimisation of licence allocation and expenditure, cost minimisation and informed forecasting to support sustainable, value-for-money service delivery.
Collaborates with the team leads to develop the strategic roadmap and continuous improvement plan for the Oracle Cloud using customer insight, service performance and organisational priorities to inform recommendations and support delivery of approved improvements.
Maintains expert knowledge of technical and Oracle capabilities, actively identifying best-practice innovations that support organisational priorities, strategic direction, and provide informed recommendations to ensure the platform is fully optimised and delivers maximum return on investment
