Job Summary:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Optometrist to join a dynamic and highly experienced team at a state-of-the-art clinic in Milton Keynes. You will work alongside ophthalmologists and other eye care professionals to provide high-quality clinical services to a wide range of patients. The role involves performing essential and advanced eye examinations, as well as pre- and post-operative consultations for patients undergoing refractive and cataract surgery.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre- and Post-Operative Consultations: Conduct consultations with patients before and after refractive and cataract surgery to ensure optimal outcomes and provide advice on post-surgery care.
Eye Examinations: Perform essential and advanced eye examinations to diagnose and treat a variety of eye conditions.
Clinical Support: Provide clinical support to ophthalmologists, assisting with diagnosis and treatment plans.
Patient Education: Explain diagnoses, treatment options, and aftercare instructions in a clear and compassionate manner.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, confidential, and compliant patient records, ensuring that all necessary information is documented according to clinic protocols.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
Team Development:
Mentorship: Mentor and support other team members, including junior optometrists, in their development and training.
Clinical Guidance: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to share knowledge and best practices, fostering an environment of continuous learning.
Professional Development: Take part in ongoing education and training to stay at the forefront of optometry and eye care practices.
About You:
Qualified Optometrist: You will be a fully qualified optometrist registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).
Experience: Experience in performing comprehensive eye exams and pre- and post-operative consultations is preferred but not essential.
Clinical Skills: Strong clinical knowledge and the ability to assess and diagnose a wide range of eye conditions.
Communication Skills: You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain medical information clearly and empathetically.
Patient-Focused: A passion for providing outstanding patient care and a desire to improve patient outcomes.
Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues to achieve the best results for patients.
