OverviewYou will perform eye examinations, contact lens fitting, and extended service examinations. Working alongside the Dispensing Optician Manager, you will support colleagues with training, coaching, and maintenance of departmental standards.
Due to extended service contracts with the NHS, you will deliver a range of eye care services and may receive additional accreditation support.
Responsibilities- Conduct eye examinations and extended service examinations.
- Fit and dispense contact lenses.
- Provide clinical and service based advice to support department standards.
- Support training and coaching of team members.
- Supervise students (optional for GOC registered professionals).
- Fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC.
- Registered performer with NHS area team or health board.
- MEC or WEC accreditation, or ability to gain accreditation within 12 months of employment.
- On track to meet statutory CPD points requirement.

Application InformationCandidates must be registered with the General Optical Council (GOC) and have evidence of Right to Work in the UK. Evidence of NHS performer list and two clinical references is required. Applicants in Wales also need evidence of WEC accreditation and WGOS module accreditation.
