Employability Tutor (English & Maths)

Location: Wirral

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: 35 hours per week

Contract: Temporary (initially until the end of the academic year, reviewed monthly)

About the Role

Reed Further Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Employability Tutor to deliver engaging and effective lessons for Level 1 Employability programmes.

The successful candidate will act as a Functional Skills English/Maths tutor for two groups, supporting learners to develop essential skills for work and life.

If you can also deliver GCSE English/Maths, this would be a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons for Level 2 Numeracy/ Literacy programmes.

• Act as course tutor for two groups, providing pastoral and academic support.

• Monitor learner progress and maintain accurate records.

• Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

• Contribute to the development of learners' confidence, communication, and employability skills.

What We're Looking For

•PGCE/CertED/QTS teaching qualification

•UK teaching experience

• Experience delivering Employability or similar vocational programmes.

• Ability to motivate and engage learners with diverse needs.

• (Desirable) Ability to teach GCSE Maths and English.

• DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one

All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years' referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks.
