Winter Maintenance Operations Manager
SAP Landscapes Maynooth, Co. Kildare €70,000-€80,000 DOE
SAP Landscapes is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and grow our established Winter Maintenance division, a profitable nationwide service operating since 2007 with ambitious growth plans. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for operational delivery, client service, subcontractor management, commercial performance and business growth.

Contract: Full Time/Permanent
Location: Maynooth / Co. Kildare.
This job description outlines some of the duties and responsibilities that are associated with your role but it is by no means an exhaustive list and may be amended as the management of the company directs. This role will involve the use of machinery and equipment and will include physical exertion (manual handling etc.) on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the planning and delivery of nationwide winter maintenance operations.
- Manage weather-triggered gritting and snow clearance services.
- Develop and grow a national subcontractor network.
- Oversee route planning, service quality, client communications and operational readiness.
- Manage commercial administration, service validation, PO processes and invoicing.
- Support tendering, pricing, contract renewals, and business development activities.
- Drive growth through new client acquisition and geographic expansion.
- Drive Business Development and salt sales.
We welcome candidates from winter maintenance, facilities management, logistics, grounds maintenance, highways, utilities, construction services or, similar field-service environments.
You will need:
- Strong operational management experience.
- Experience managing subcontractors and reactive service delivery.
- Commercial awareness and client relationship skills.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Confidence using digital systems, route planning, and reporting tools.
- A full clean driving licence.
Winter maintenance is a weather-driven service and flexibility is a fundamental requirement of this role.
During the operational season, the successful candidate will be expected to provide leadership outside standard working hours when required, including:
- Responding to weather events and operational issues.
- Taking client calls and resolving service challenges.
- Coordinating crews, subcontractors, and resources.
- Supporting service delivery during evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
This may occasionally include key holiday periods such as Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, St. Stephen's Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. In return, you will have significant autonomy, responsibility and the opportunity to lead a growing national operation.
